About South Branch Lake Camps

You will find South Branch Lake Camps nestled among the pines along the crystal clear waters of our beloved South Branch Lake. We have been on these shores for close to 100 years and are the second longest operating Sporting Camp in the Maine Wilderness. We can't wait to share all of the "specialness" this unique location has to offer with you. Please take some time to make yourself comfortable, look around and give us a shout if y'all have any questions.

American Plan

One of the ways to stay with us is the American Plan option. Under this option we do everything, well not everything - you still need to catch your own fish, pull the trigger, gas up your ATVs, take pictures, and relax; but we take care of everything else. You will stay in 1 of 8 American Plan Cabins, each of which has: a bathroom, beds, linens, towels, running water, refrigerator, custom pine interiors, and a screened-in porch. We will cook your breakfast, prepare your lunch, and cook you dinner each and every day of your stay. All you need to do is show up and have a great time.

Housekeeping Plan

The other option is the Housekeeping Plan, for the "do it myself" crowd. With this option you will stay in 1 of 3 Housekeeping Plan Cabins, that are equipped with: a stovetop and oven, full refrigerator, toasters, coffee maker, cookware and utensils, bathroom, running water, dinning table, screened-in porch, and the ability to sleep 3-5 people depending on the cabin. The rest is up to you.

Russ Aldridge

I grew up in the woods of New England and have been working in these Maine woods for the past 45+ years, where I've been the owner and operator of South Branch Lake Camp for 20+ years. I am a Master Maine Guide for Hunting and Fishing. We have over 50,000 acres at our disposal to hunt big game, birds and water fowl; and sit on a 2264 acre, spring fed, lake which is one of the best fisheries in the state, producing Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Pickerel, Perch and Sunfish. We also have walking trails, thousands of miles of ATV trails, great birding and plenty of rest and relaxation.
